Say What? Yep, homemade...well semi-homemade. In high school, one of my best friend's mom made the best homemade oreo cookies. I always wanted to know her secret to success and she told me, Betty Crocker cake mix. While I love making things from scratch, Betty Crocker sure does know her stuff. It takes about 1/4 of the time and voila, you're done. These will last up to a couple of days in a tin or tupperware container. Although, they are mighty addicting so you have been warned.
Homemade Oreo Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
-1 package of prepacked Devil's Food cake mix
- 1 tub of premade vanilla icing
- 1/2 cup of canola or vegetable oil
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Add cake mix, oil, and eggs together in a large bowl. Mix well. On a greased baking sheet, arrange mix into small balls. Bake in the oven for 8 minutes. Immediately transfer the cookies to a wire cooling rack. You will most likely have to do more than one baking sheet, so repeat. Once cookies are fully cooled, add icing to bottom of one cookie. Find another of similar size and complete the sandwich. Repeat for the rest of the cookies.
Enjoy!
